Board of School Directors Select Anne-Marie Grill to Fill Board Vacancy

The Exeter Township Board of School Directors selected Anne-Marie Grill to fill a vacancy on the board following interviews with 10 candidates during a special meeting on Monday evening, which was held in the board room at the Exeter Township Lausch Administration Building in Reading.
Mrs. Grill, an Exeter Township resident and longtime advocate for children and families, brings decades of experience in youth development, education and community leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Towson State University and has spent much of her career working with children, families and volunteers in leadership roles.
In her current role as elementary director of GT Kids Ministry at GT Church in West Lawn, Mrs. Grill oversees programming for students in kindergarten through third grade and leads outreach initiatives designed to strengthen community engagement. Mrs. Grill also previously served as executive assistant to the Berks County commissioner, where she gained experience in government operations, event planning and administrative leadership. During that time, she also served on the board of the county’s Child and Youth Services agency, further deepening her understanding of child welfare and public policy.
Her connection to the district is also personal. Along with her husband, Frank, Mrs. Grill has raised five children who have been part of the Exeter Township School District, giving her a long-standing perspective as both a parent and community member.
Exeter Township School Board President Julia Shaffer said the board was impressed with the depth of experience among the candidates and the commitment each demonstrated to the district.
“We had a very strong group of applicants, and we appreciate everyone who stepped forward to serve our community,” Mrs. Shaffer said. “Anne-Marie brings a deep passion for supporting children and families along with extensive experience working with youth, volunteers and community organizations. We are excited to welcome her to the board and look forward to the perspective she will bring.”
Mrs. Grill said she is honored to serve the district and is eager to work collaboratively with fellow board members, administrators and the community to support students.
The appointment fills a vacancy following Allison Wilson’s resignation in February.
