Community Announcement: School Board Elections - November, 2021
January is school board recognition month - a time to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteers who work to maintain quality education for the children of our community. We salute the group of nine individuals who spend dozens of hours each month voluntarily leading our schools and making difficult decisions. Pennsylvania school board members are elected by the public for a four-year term and are not compensated for their service.
Becoming a School Board Member
School board elections occur every two years with about half of the board planning for re-election or ending their terms. Members of the community who may be interested in serving on the school board should begin to make decisions for the November 2021 elections soon.
The Pennsylvania School Board Association (PSBA) is offering free online information workshops later this month. The accompanying flyer provides the information needed in taking the next steps towards school board membership.
School directors provide an invaluable governing service and take satisfaction in knowing they are instrumental in securing bright futures for our children. Feel free to reach out to the superintendent’s office or school board leadership if you would like to learn more or discuss your interest in serving.
It is our mission to provide differentiated learning opportunities in a safe, nurturing environment that will enable all students to fully develop their minds and their character to become successful, productive citizens in a changing world
