Update to PDE COVID-19 Instructional Models Guidance

On January 7, 2021, the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) revised their COVID-19 Instructional Models Guidance and held a corresponding press conference to announce the change.  The complete information regarding these changes can be found at the following link:

There is only one revision to the previous guidance.  Prior to today, schools in counties with Substantial levels of viral transmission were guided to only provide full remote instruction.  (Berks County has been in the Substantial range since the beginning of November) Now, under Substantial transmission, PDE/DOH are adding a recommendation that elementary schools may be in a hybrid/blended model as local conditions allow.  There is also a note that allows/encourages schools to provide in-person instruction for "targeted students" (ex. IEP, ELL).

There is no need for the Exeter Township School District to resubmit any form to PDE/DOH at this time as nothing is changing for our District. We have been providing a hybrid/blended model for all of our elementary students since November 2nd and we have been providing access for students with IEPs and English Language Learners (ELL) since that date as well.  For more information about COVID-19 and its impact on the Exeter Township School District, please visit our ETSD COVID-19 Dashboard and Information page here.  This page is updated daily.  Stay safe!
