• Attendance
Parents are required to call the attendance secretary or send an email to the Attendance email address of each building.  The building phone number and email address are located on each of the building's webpage.

The Board requires that school-aged students enrolled in the schools of this district attend school regularly in accordance with the laws of the state. The educational program offered by the district is predicated upon the presence of the student and requires continuity of instruction and classroom participation.
  • Reporting a Student's Absence

Parents are required to report a child's absence prior to 8:30 a.m.
The phone call must be followed with a written excuse from a parent/guardian submitted within three school days after the last day of absence. At any time that the school is unaware of a reason for a child's absence, a call may be made to the home to verify the child's absence. If a student is absent, arrangements can be made via voice mail to secure assignments for the student. These assignments can be picked up in the office at the end of the day. Absence notes must be turned into the student's homeroom teacher. Failure to provide a written excuse for absences will result in the student receiving an unexcused absence, which further results in disciplinary consequences and possible fines. If a student is absent three (3) days consecutively, he/she must present a physician's note upon return to school.

You can now send an emailed message to your child’s building attendance secretary with your written excuse of why he/she was absent. If you use this system, you no longer need to send a handwritten note in with your student when he/she returns to school following an absence. Each building's attendance email address is located on the school's website underneath the building contact information. In your email, please include YOUR CHILD'S FULL NAME, DATE OF ABSENCE, REASON FOR ABSENCE, AND PARENT FULL NAME. If a doctor’s note is required due to the length of or accumulation of absences, you can attach a scanned copy to your email or have your child submit the original when he/she returns. Please note that emails will only be accepted from the email address you have provided in your child's Skyward account. Additionally, this email system is not to be used for student tardiness parent reporting or parent notifying district of picking up a child who is currently in attendance at school.
