Hello Reiffton students and parents/guardians!

I am so excited to meet all of my new 5th grade students this year and to see my returning 6th grade friends! Students with last names L-Z will be seeing me as your school counselor at Reiffton.

So, here is a little bit about me! My name is Mrs. Kate Atkinson. August 2020 will start my 3rd year here at Exeter. This is my 12th year as a school counselor. Prior to working at Exeter, I was a counselor at Daniel Boone Area School District for 9 years. I am married to my husband Patrick and we have 3 boys - Patrick (age 7), Henry (age 5) and Casimir (age 3).  We also cherish our old dog Rosie who just turned 15 this year.

As a school counselor I am passionate about social and emotional development, helping students learn skills to be successful in school and life, and mindfulness techniques that help us cope with stress, reduce anxiety and achieve mental balance.  On a personal note, I love: exercise and yoga, coffee and chocolate, doing puzzles, reading, playing with my kids and exploring the world outside!  As a lifelong learner I am excited to learn more about incorporating technology into my school counseling program.

Students, if you see me in the halls, make sure to say hi!  Welcome back to school.

Let's make it a FABULOUS year!

Best,

♥ Mrs. Atkinson
