My name is Nichole Mandel and I am the Spanish Teacher here at Exeter Junior High School. This will be my 14th year teaching Spanish, and my 9th year in the Exeter School District. Throughout the past 13 years, I have taught Spanish levels 1-4, Spanish 201 at the University level and Kindergarten Spanish for ages 4-6. By far, the introductory levels of Spanish are my favorite to share with students, so I am looking forward to the start of the new school year.
This year I will teach 7th grade Exploratory Spanish and 8th grade Introduction to Spanish. The Exploratory Spanish course is a 30-day course for 7th graders that meets every other day and parallels two other similar courses in German and French. The Introduction to Spanish course is a 90 day, full year course for 8th graders that meets every other day for those students that elect to continue their study of Spanish.
I am both a Virginia and Pennsylvania certified teacher with a Bachelors in Modern Foreign Language and Masters in Teaching. I obtained both my Bachelors and Masters degrees through James Madison University and at the University of Salamanca in Spain during a year long immersion program.
At school, I am a part of the SAP team, Principal Advisory Committee, Olweus Anti-Bullying Committee, and Professional Development Committee, and serve as a Union Teacher Representative for the Junior High.
In my free time, I like to spend time with my husband, two children and dog, read and try to learn how to cook.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
I am always here to help.
