Education: I graduated from Millersville University in 1992 with a dual major in Elementary Education and Spanish, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I earned my masters degree in Elementary Education from West Chester University in 1999. At this time I also earned certification as a Reading Specialist. Over the years, I have earned an additional 60 credits in education and reading support, to better serve the students in our community.
Bio: I have been teaching since 1992. I taught for 8 years in the Reading School District before coming to Exeter in September of 2000. I started at Lausch, serving one year as a first grade teacher before becoming the building's Reading Specialist in September of 2001. I have continued as the building's Reading Specialist at Jacksonwald Elementary! My goal is to help children strengthen their reading skills and become lifelong readers.
I have lived in the area all my life. I grew up in Stony Creek, and now live in Birdsboro with my husband, two children, and our pets. In my spare time I love to read.
Mrs. Cheryl Smith and Mrs. Christine Kilyan are our reading aides at Jacksonwald. They work with me in providing reading support to our students. Both live in Exeter Township.
