Hello, my name is Brenda Jordan. I am a 1971 graduate of Reading High School and came to Exeter after working in the banking industry for 25 years. I started with the Exeter School District in the 1997-98 school year. I had worked at Lausch Elementary as a computer lab assistant for 13 years. MLL is now the Administration building and we moved to Jacksonwald which has a much, much bigger computer lab. The whole school itself is a lot bigger but we learned to adjust to it.
This year we are running on a 6 day cycle. They are scheduled for library 2x a cycle. The second day is a tech/research day for the library which means Miss Wegman may be bringing them to the computer lab. Teachers may also sign up for any open slots in the lab. 1st thru 4th grades have chromebook carts to use in their classrooms. In addition each 4th grade class has received 15 chromebooks. K-3 classrooms have 10 iPads. We have 45 iPads which are assigned to Title I students which they can take home. I enjoy working with the teachers and students. It's amazing how much the children know about technology. Our tech team has worked very hard on a technology web page which the students access in the computer lab. It is set up by grade levels K-6. You can access this website at home through the Exeter webpage. On the main page click on For Parents you will see a drop down menu, then click on exercise your technology skills. You can also type https://www.exeter.k12.pa.us/domain/67 in your address bar.
