I was a stay-at-home mom of two very active boys. I started volunteering at their elementary school. I worked as a classroom teacher's aide for twelve years. I wanted to become a role model, have my own classroom and become a teacher. Having a very loving and supportive husband, I was able to fulfill my dream of becoming an elementary teacher.
I am a 2002 graduate of Kutztown University and a 2006 Master's Graduate of Wilkes University. My teaching background has included first and fourth grade for the Exeter Township School District.
My husband and I live in the Boyertown area. We have two sons, our youngest Matthew, a member of the United States Marine Corps, has done two tours in Iraq. He is a graduate of West Chester University with a degree in Health & Phys. Ed. Our oldest son, Michael a member of the United States Air Force, has completed three tours in Iraq. He lives in Las Vegas, Nevada with his beautiful wife, Ginie, and two adorable little boys, Benjamin and Jackson. What a wonderful feeling of becoming a grandparent.
There are seven areas I want to think about, work on and bring into my classroom; classroom organization, lesson planning, learning environment, motivation, diversity, discipline with dignity and student assessment.
A quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, "If anyone were to ask me what I want out of life I would say, the opportunity for doing something useful, for in no other ways, I am convinced, can true happiness be attained."
