Hello and welcome to Reiffton!  My name is Michelle Woolsey, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your child this year!

    Education:
I am beginning my 20th year of teaching.   I have my bachelor’s degree in  Secondary Mathematics Education from Penn State, my Elementary Education Certification from Gwynedd Mercy College, and my Master’s Degree from Arcadia University in Computers and Education.  In addition I have 60 additional credits above my Master's Degree in teaching strategies, special populations, and current technology.   Previously, I taught in the Abington School District as well as several years in Early Childhood education.  As a firm believer in continuing education and professional development, I look forward to opportunities in the future to further my knowledge.

    Philosophy:
Overall, my main goal for each of your children is to create a positive, enriched environment where they can explore and discover new ideas and concepts.   I believe in high expectations for myself as well as my students.  I expect each student to give a full effort each day and work together to create a community of students who support and respect one another.   I am very committed to providing each unique child a means for a successful year in school.  Together, with good communication, we can have a great year together.
    Biography:
I have a wonderful husband and two awesome boys, a 11th grader and a 8th grader.  As a family we love to spend time cheering on our Penn State Nittany Lions, running 5K races together, and hiking with our golden retriever, Sammie.   We love family vacations together, especially the bustle of Ocean City, NJ and the peace and quiet, peaceful beauty of Acadia National Park.
