I am a 6th grade Learning Support teacher in the Reiffton school. I have been teaching Special Education since 2007, and love to facilitate learning for my 6th grade students, and find new, creative and interesting ways to present the curriculum. I believe in differentiating instruction to reach all types of learners, and I am committed to the philosophy of life-long learning for my students and myself. Additionally, I believe in assisting my students in developing a community of structure and respect; while feeling comfortable and safe.
Early in my career, I attended Reading Hospital School of Nursing, but later in life decided that I wanted to teach. I graduated from Kutztown University with dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education, and hold my Masters in Educational Technology from Wilkes University.
I have a wonderful husband, a 28 year old daughter, a 26 year old son, and a new grandson, born in April. My family is the joy of my life! My daughter, a Penn State University graduate with a degree in Communications, is finally gainfully employed in her field, and my son who attended Penn State and Thaddeus Stevens School of Technology also has his first job in his field. I have been married for 35 years and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love camping, hiking, traveling, reading and yoga. I spend much of my summer time outdoors and at the beach. I look forward to a new and exciting year of learning, character building and getting to know each other.
I look forward to each new year and getting to know my students and their learning styles. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at the above email.
