Mrs. Marti Benson
Family & Consumer Sciences
Hello! I’m very excited to be the long term substitute teacher for Mrs. Meader’s Family & Consumer Science Classes for the first semester of the 2019-2020 school year. I will be teaching Interior Design & The Home, Life 101, and Sports Nutrition.
I graduated from The University of Nebraska and I’ve substitute taught in the Exeter Senior High on a regular basis over the last several years. My daughter Bella, was an Exeter graduate in 2018 and my son Brady will be a Junior. My husband Scott and I were born and raised in Nebraska. His job brought us east just after Bella was born.
I love to teach, cook, decorate and scrapbook. I can’t wait to meet all of my students and I look forward to a great semester.
The courses I teach:
Interior Design & The Home
This course focuses on the fundamentals of housing and the interior of homes. The students will examine various types of housing, the history of housing and the concepts associated with interior design.
The Life 101
This course covers real life issues and problems that students will encounter in the future. Everything from balancing a checkbook and taxes, to cooking healthy meals.
This course will establish the foundation for athletic success by teaching students about fundamental nutrition principles including protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals along with proper hydration.
