    Junior High School Assistant Principal - The Exeter Township School District is seeking an individual with demonstrated instructional leadership skills with a focus on student success.  The selected candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that all Exeter Junior High School students have an outstanding learning experience in our school. To achieve this goal the responsibilities of this position will include:

    • Evidence of effective teaching, the ability to articulate the defining qualities of such, and strategies for supervising other teachers in developing their own instructional skills. 
    • Support for students and their families in the pursuit of success in academics, attendance, and behavior. 
    • Experience or familiarity with core academic functions including curriculum development, standardized testing, and scheduling. 
    • Creative thinking, attention to detail, and thoroughness in the development and execution of programs and tasks throughout the school. 

    Qualifications:  Current Valid and Active Pennsylvania Principal’s certificate.

    Position Information:  Candidate must have a background in color guard teaching and/or performance along with knowledge of indoor/competitive fundamentals.  This position seeks enthusiastic candidates with prior teaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or indoor level who wish to help build a growing program.  The candidate must be comfortable running sectionals, reading drill charts, and helping with choreography.  Rifle experience is a plus but not required.  Position requires attendance at: summer rehearsals, August band camp, Tuesday evening rehearsals throughout the marching season, Friday night football games, and occasional weekend competitions, parades, etc.  PA Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances as well as FBI Fingerprints required prior to working with students.

    Required education or certification: high school diploma; 2 years, post high school training/experience in the field of education/color guard; Bachelor's degree in education preferred.

    The following vacancy exists:  Musical Pit Orchestra Director (Part Time)

     

    Position Information:  The Musical Pit Orchestra Director is part of the Musical Theatre Production Team, conducting the pit orchestra.  Responsibilities include meeting with the Director and Musical Theatre Team, attend auditions, study and become familiar with the script, vocal music and score, select pit orchestra musicians using a majority of Exeter students, prepare and execute a comprehensive rehearsal schedule for the pit orchestra, including specific rehearsals with cast members prior to the final production weeks.  Share this information with the Director.  Schedule obligations are listed below. 

    The position seeks enthusiastic candidates with experience in Instrumental conducting, and/or participation in musical theatre productions/pit orchestras, and working in a creative and collaborative environment

    Key skills and tasks are have a college degree in music or conducting, and be student-focused, collaborative, organized, and flexible.

    Schedule obligations include conduct multiple rehearsals with the pit musicians, including specific rehearsals with pit musicians and cast members prior to the final production week, attend musical rehearsals, including vocal rehearsals, throughout the process to become familiar with the actual production during the final two weeks – attend run-throughs prior to Tech Day (evenings), attend Tech Day rehearsal (all day the Saturday before production) and all dress/tech rehearsals (evenings) and attend all performances.

    Position Information:  Candidate must have prior teaching experience with high school or collegiate marching band and/or drum corps and have a desire to build a growing marching arts program.  The candidate must be comfortable with teaching and leading full ensemble rehearsals, instrumental sections, marching fundamentals and teaching or running drill.  We also seek a candidate with basic knowledge or training in instrumental repair. 

    Position Duties Include:  Summer band rehearsals and band camp.  Tuesday evening rehearsals throughout the fall, attending Friday night football games, competitions, and parades.  PA Criminal, Child Abuse, and Fingerprints are required prior to working with students.

    • Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History Report or UEID # (Choose Dept. of Education PDE when registering - code 1KG6XN) so official results can be obtained from the PA Department of Education.  Provide a copy of your receipt with the UEID # to Human Resources.  If you use a different code and we can’t retrieve official results, you will be asked to repeat the process using the correct code which will result in your having to pay a second time.
