It's a great place to visit with so much to do.When I'm not doing school work, I enjoy reading a good book on the beach, watching movies and most of all, spending time with my family.I am thrilled to be teaching third grade at Owatin Creek Elementary School! I considerit a privilege to work for the Exeter Township School District. I love teaching thirdgraders because they are at such an inquisitive age and eager to learn.Third grade is a year when students will have to take on more responsibility asindependent learners. In third grade we use the math series called Investigations. It is aligned with the Common Core Standards andincludes a lot of hands on learning. It is designed to engage students to be able to usevarious strategies and communicate reasoning about mathematical ideas. In Language Arts, we will be focusing on strategies for Close Reading basedon the works of Beers & Probst. It will enable students to read texts with a deeperunderstanding. We will continue to use our Be A Writer program and guidedreading groups. Our students will learn multiplication, cursive handwriting, FOSS hands on scienceinvestigations which include Earth Materials, Water, & Sound, as well as all aboutcommunities near and far in social studies, and PSSA's, just toname a few of the many opportunities and experiences.
Let's work together to make it a super year!Mrs. Jarsocrak
