  • You Made It!

Posted by Diana Bogust on 5/29/2020

    Students and Parents,

You made it!  What a year to remember, but you made it to the last week of school.  It makes me so sad that I can’t see you in person to wish you a wonderful summer.  I love teaching you and miss seeing you every day.   Thank you parents for your amazing work while at home!  Every picture, video and email of success you shared with me made me smile (and miss your student even more)!

I hope you have a wonderful summer!  Stay healthy and keep exercising!  I’m so proud of each one of you!

  • Physical Education Update

Posted by Diana Bogust on 2/19/2020

What are we learning in physical education?

K:  Kindergarten has been working on dribbling with their hands and feet!  This is a great skill to practice at home.  This week we will add the skill of kicking.

1st and 2nd Grade:  First and second grade just finished working on dribbling and will work on kicking this week.  We will review these skills and combine those skills into small game experiences and station work in the upcoming weeks.

3rd and 4th Grade:  Third and fourth grade have been working on the skills of dribbling and passing using their hands, feet and a hockey stick.  We're looking forward to adding the skill of shooting in the upcoming weeks.  As our skills progress third grade will practice these skills in station work and fourth grade will start applying them to small game situations.

  • Happy New Year

Posted by Diana Bogust on 1/2/2020 9:00:00 AM

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a fun, relaxing and healthy break!  The new year will bring us some new topics of study in health and physical education class!

In physical education this cycle we will be focusing on teambuilding and working together.  These activities will get us ready to begin our Music and Movement unit on Friday, January 10.  We will enjoy working with Mrs. Mrenna's music class to incorporate music and movement into a wide range of activities during the month of January.  Our unit will conclude with our family event--Celebration of the Arts on Tuesday, February 4.  More information will be sent home soon about this fun family event.

In health class we will be finishing our nutrition unit and moving into our unit on drug awareness.  During this unit students will learn about the risks associated with smoking, vaping, drinking alcohol, good drugs and bad drugs, and legal and illegal drugs.  This instruction provides parents and guardians the perfect opportunity to also discuss these topics at home.
