First Mathcounts meeting will be announced. It will occur in mid to late October and takes place on Wednesdays.
Time: 2:30 - 3:15
If you like to be challenged in math, Mathcounts is for you!
MathCounts is a team of junior high students who compete with the other schools in the county in a math competition. The team consists of 10 students, 4 who compete as a team and as individuals, and 6 who compete as individuals.
The math problems encourage students to think outside the box - a great way to improve your mathematical thinking.
To prepare for the February competition, practice begins in October and takes place after school. Typically, practices take place once a week and usually runs from 2:30 to 3:15pm. The time will be increase to 3:30 in January. All practices are held in room 004. There is an $80 activity fee for this activity (unless it has been paid with a sport or other activity), if you compete on the team.
The county competition takes place in February at Penn State, Berks campus.
